It became known that the U.S. Navy rescued fishermen stranded on a deserted island.

It is reported that this happened in the Federal States of Micronesia – in the western Pacific Ocean.

Three fishermen traveled by boat to the remote island of Pikelot, but could not return.

This is reported by The Maritime Telegraph.

Relatives of one of the missing fishermen appealed to the U.S. Coast Guard. The patrol boat USCGC Oliver Henry and a P-8 Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft were involved in the search for the men.

The initial search area covered more than 78,000 square nautical miles. The missing fishermen were spotted from the aircraft on the remote coral island of Pikelot.
