War in Ukraine

Ukrainian pilots are using iPad tablets to destroy Russian air defenses. Thanks to this, old Su-27 fighters can now launch Western weapons

Ukrainian pilots use iPad tablets

Ukrainian pilots use Apple’s iPad tablets to destroy Russian air defense systems.

This was reported by US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Support, LaPlante.

“They have a lot of Soviet-era aircraft. Working with the Ukrainians, we were able to take a lot of Western weaponry and make it work on these airplanes, where it’s actually controlled by the pilot using an iPad,” he said.

He explained that Ukrainian pilots are using iPads to launch sophisticated Western missiles from their Soviet-era fighter jets.

Because of this, older Ukrainian fighters can now take on many Western weapons.

Tablets can also be used to navigate and display important data to help pilots successfully complete missions.

The video shows a Ukrainian Su-27 Flanker fighter jet equipped with just such a system.
