An analysis was conducted of the large so-called “leopard spots” on the surface of Mars and smaller formations resembling poppy seeds.
NASA scientists stated that the only explanation for their presence on the planet is possible biological activity.
Chemical analysis of the objects showed a high content of iron, phosphates, and organic compounds. This was reported by NASA.
On our planet Earth, such formations are usually associated with the activity of microbes in water bodies.
“All the methods we have for studying them with the rover indicate that they have never been heated to the point where leopard spots and poppy seeds could have formed,” explained Michael Thies, a geobiologist at Texas A&M University.
NASA experts report that soil samples will soon be delivered to Earth.
This animation shows how water disappears over time in the Martian river valley Neretva.
NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover takes a sample of rock called “Sapphire Canyon” from a rock called “Cheyeva Falls.”
Why did Mars become like a desert? American scientists have found out that Mars has turned into a desert due to the peculiarities of its geology.
