It has become known that a Blue Origin capsule has made the first tourist flight with a female crew.
On board were singer Katy Perry and fiancée Jeff Bezos. This is reported by NBC News.
American reusable rocket New Shepard went on a suborbital commercial flight.
A crew of six female travelers was on board and departed from the launch pad in Texas at 09:30 US East Coast time.
The crew included singer Katy Perry, CBS television host Gayle King, and aerospace engineer Aiche Bowe.
Also on the crew were engineer Amanda Nguyen, movie producer Kerienne Flynn, and the fiancée of Blue Origin CEO Jeff Bezos, journalist Lauren Sanchez.
The flight lasted about 11 minutes. The capsule with the crew successfully landed in west Texas.
This is the first space launch with an all-female crew since Valentina Tereshkova’s flight in 1963.
