Russia wants to recruit 400 thousand contract soldiers into the army in 2024

It became known that Russia intends to recruit about 400 thousand soldiers on contract in 2024. This was reported by British intelligence.

This is necessary for the implementation of previously announced plans to increase the number of armed forces of the Russian Federation to 1.5 million.

It is also needed to support Russian forces in Ukraine, where the Russian army has suffered huge losses in recent months.

Intelligence believes that Russian forces in Ukraine are staffed with soldiers specifically for contract service and some reservists are mobilized at the end of 2022.

It is reported that Russia will continue to draft soldiers in spring and fall.

It is planned to draft about 150,000 soldiers between the ages of 18 and 30, as it was before.

Earlier in Ukraine, it was reported that Russia was preparing an additional mobilization of 300 thousand soldiers for June 1.

However, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, this figure may be higher.
