In France, the villa of the former wife of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Lyudmila Ocheretnaya, was arrested.
This is reported by the publication Challenges.
The villa in art deco style is located in the town of Anglet. It was acquired in 2013 by a Russian businessman and husband of Lyudmila Arthur Ocheretnoy.
The property on a land area of 5,000 square meters cost the owner 5.4 million euros, and the origin of these funds remains mysterious.
According to media reports, the Villa Rêverie or Souzanna was seized by a French court.
The house is empty, and it has been completely searched as part of an investigation by a department of the Paris prosecutor’s office.
“This followed a complaint filed by the association Transparency International against Russian figures following the outbreak of war in Ukraine,” the publication explained.
The material noted that the villa Rêverie was built in the 1920s.
The house visually resembles a Greek temple – it has a peristyle with a curved pediment and is decorated with bas-reliefs by famous sculptors of that time.
