In Poland, NATO troops landed in a village instead of the planned training ground due to strong winds.
Some of the troops were hanging on power lines, while others landed on the roofs of houses. This is reported by RMF24.
As it became known, 12 soldiers of the 2nd reconnaissance regiment from Hrubieszów landed in the village of Chechlo instead of the training ground.
It turned out that the incident was caused by weather conditions. After the soldiers jumped out of the plane, a strong wind arose.
As one of the officers explained, the control capabilities of this type of parachute are limited – it opens automatically after exiting the plane.
The group of soldiers was carried several hundred meters to the northwest.
Therefore, in the village, the troops had to land on real estate, one was hanging on a power line, another damaged the roof of a house.
It is known that the military were assisted by local residents. One of them injured his knee and was taken to a medical facility.
Air Crash Investigation Commission will investigate the incident.
In addition, the internal military services will also conduct their own investigation.
