For the first time ever, tourists will have the opportunity to visit the chambers of Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
This is reported by Daily Mail.
This historic castle has been one of the royal family’s favorite vacation spots for 170 years.
It is reported that King Charles granted permission in order to increase public access to the royal households and increase the royal court’s income.
Previously, guests were only allowed to visit the dance hall when the royal family was away for a fee.
Now from April, guests will be able to visit several rooms in the castle that are used by members of the royal family, particularly the majesties the king and queen.
Among the rooms available may be the drawing room where the late Queen Elizabeth II received guests.
It was where she last hosted former Prime Minister Liz Truss, but the bedrooms will remain closed to the public.
Entry to the castle grounds will be limited to 40 people per day and tickets will cost £100 for a regular tour and £150 for a tour with afternoon tea.
Balmoral has become a particularly important site since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, when she was at the castle after celebrating her 70th anniversary on the throne in June that year.
