Collapse of a suspension bridge in China

It became known that five people died in the collapse of a suspension bridge in China, and 24 more were injured with varying severity.

This was reported by the agency Xinhua with reference to local authorities.

According to a statement published on the social network WeChat, the incident occurred in Mongolkure County, Zhaosu District.

The cause of the accident was the breakage of one of the cables holding the bridge. As a result, the structure tilted, and the people on it fell.

The victims were promptly taken to the hospital. According to reports, their lives are not in danger.

The work of the tourist area where the incident occurred has been suspended. An investigation into the causes of the incident is currently underway.
