It became known that an F-16 fighter jet crashed in Poland during a rehearsal of an air show: the pilot was killed.
As reported by the representative of the Government of Poland, Adam Szlapka, it happened in the city of Radom.
“Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz spoke with the Prime Minister and is now heading to the crash site,” he wrote in X.
On August 30-31, the Radom airfield is due to host one of Europe’s biggest air shows.
This year, more than 150 airplanes from 20 countries will be on display there.
At the helm of the crashed F-16 was a pilot, Maciej Krakowian, famous in Poland.
He was leading the Tiger Demo Team aerobatic team. Krakowian did not have time to eject and died on the spot. What caused the tragedy is being investigated.
