A parrot helped uncover a major drug ring

A parrot named Mango was captured on video saying the phrase “two for 25,” a reference to the street price for a batch of crack (crack cocaine).

The videos were found on a cell phone belonging to Shannon Hilton, whose boyfriend Adam Garnett was in prison. Itvnews reports.

As it turns out, Garnett was running a criminal network directly from his cell using smuggled phones and Wi-Fi routers.

The video also shows Hilton making video calls to her lover, with blocks of cocaine in the background.

@itvnews How did this parrot help bring down a major drugs gang? A gang member taught the pet how to say phrases used by dealers, like “two for 25”. Police raided homes in Blackpool where officers discovered the pet and seized large amounts of heroin and cocaine. #itvnews #blackpoolpolice ♬ original sound – itvnews

The pair were among 15 gang members who were sentenced to a total of 103 years in prison after confessing to drug offenses.

The court in Preston found that Garnett had kept in touch with his associates despite already being behind bars.
