In the UK, a green ball of fire flew over the city of Nottingham. This was reported by the Daily Star.
The rare astronomical phenomenon was captured on camera by software engineer Nicholas Shanks.
He posted the photo on social media and wrote that it was the first time in his life he had seen a large sporadic meteor fall.
The Briton said he watched the extraterrestrial object fly by for about two seconds.
Sporadic meteors are those that do not belong to known meteor streams and enter the Earth’s atmosphere on an unpredictable trajectory.
Internet users rejoiced at Shanks’ luck in capturing the moment.
Other witnesses of the astronomical phenomenon also commented on his post. One man wrote that he had observed the same green meteor in North London, 175 kilometers from Nottingham.
Users from other cities also reported seeing it.
Earlier, it was reported about a mysterious UFO that was spotted over the airport in Britain.
Eyewitnesses recorded an unidentified silver object the size of a car, which smoothly floated in the air.
