The Taliban are searching for unknown assailants who stole a large amount of cash from a Falcon 10 plane.
The plane crashed on January 20 in the mountains of the Afghan province of Badakhshan.
The local Taliban military unit, which was among the first to arrive at the scene of the plane crash, is being investigated for involvement in the theft.
According to Hasht-e Subh sources, unknown persons stole $1.2 million from the overturned Russian plane.
After the discovery of the missing money, the Taliban governor in Badakhshan, Mohammad Ayub Khalid, organized a special commission to investigate the crime.
The head of Taliban intelligence in the province will search for the attackers. They will also check the Taliban, who were the first to arrive at the scene.
They, according to the newspaper, are related to the head of the group’s army headquarters, Fasihuddin Fitra.
